2nd Sochi Drift Challenge round finishes on Sochi Autodrom track

Second 2022-2023 Sochi Drift Challenge round finishes on Sochi Autodrom track

Round 2 of Sochi Drift Challenge was held from 20 to 22 January on the "classic layout" in Turn 2. More than 60 competitors from Russia and Belarus took part in the competition and, as always, demonstrated a decent level and quality drift.
In the team standings, the round was dominated by the Carville Racing team, its drivers were on top the entire weekend, but in the individual standings they took only second and third places. Grigory Burlutsky (St. Petersburg) made it to the second step of the podium, and Nikita Shikov (Moscow) to the third. By the way, Nikita Shikov took the lead in the championship, he was the first in qualifying, but in the semi-finals he lost to the winner of the round due to a mistake during initiation. The second place in the team standings was taken by the Mega Drive team.

The breakthrough team of the weekend was the rookies Kultura Zanosa that demonstrated a good level in “weak” cars and took third place in the team standings. One of their drivers, Ilya Polishchuk (St. Petersburg), broke into the TOP8, where he gave the winner of the round, Grigory Gusev from Nakhodka, a run for his money.  And Grigory Gusev himself had a very stable round and deservedly took the first place trophy.

As the judges noted, the second round of the 2022-2023 Sochi Drift Challenge season turned out to be interesting and exciting. All the competitors had beautiful sessions and showed their skills.

Viewers were able to enjoy thrilling drift online thanks to the broadcast. Over the past weekend, the stream has been viewed more than 1.5 million times. For those who did not have time to see the competition, a recording of the broadcast is available in the official Rosgonki group on VK. And on 26 January, a digest will also be released in the Rosgonki group, where viewers will be able to see the highlights of the round, and exclusive content that was not in the broadcast (the podium, interviews with drivers and much more that was left behind the scenes).

You can watch the competition live only at the final, which will be held on 25 and 26 March. An additional bonus for ticket holders: access to the very heart of the event - the Service Park, where you can see cars and drivers at arm's length, take photos and buy souvenirs.

Tickets to the final are available of the official website.

See you at Sochi Autodrom!
