Driver from Krasnoyarsk Georgy Chivchyan won the 1st round of the Sochi Drift Challenge of the new season

This weekend, 4 and 5 December, the Sochi Autodrom Support Paddock hosted the first round of the 2021-2022 Sochi Drift Challenge.
This time, a record number of applications were submitted - more than 130, although there were slightly fewer participants in qualifying - 78 people. But even this figure is a record for all three seasons in the Sochi Drift Challenge existence.
Saturday’s qualifying was won by Nikita Lukyanov, a driver of the PIN-UP Devil's Race Team. Representatives of the city of Sochi Vladislav Belyakov, Roman Tivodar and Ilya Belyakov also made it to the TOP-32, but Georgy Chivchyan from Krasnoyarsk became the best in the pair races. Maxim Akhtyamov from Chelyabinsk taken second place with Nikolay Gorkovenko from St. Petersburg finishing third.
It should be noted that this season the Sochi Drift Challenge title sponsor is VTB Bank.
The second round of the SDC in the Russian winter drifting capital will take place on 22-23 January 2022.
